England is touring Pakistan after 17 years

Following Pakistan’s defeat in the Asia Cup 2022, all eyes were on the team’s battle against England, who are touring the country after 17 years, but the latter clinched the first game of the seven-match series by six wickets.

Pakistan gave a modest target of 158, which England was able to achieve in 19.2 overs.

Both sides also symbolically represented the situation at home. While Pakistan’s players wore a kit that showed their names submerged in water to express solidarity with flood victims, England’s players wore black armbands to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II who died earlier this month.
